2000
Bookwork’s Textile Project
A major year long project for 200 senior citizens throughout the city of Aberdeen to create, textile books about their lives. Techniques included transferring old photographs, collage, appliqué, sewing & embroidery.

1999
Millennium Textile Project Great Northern Partnership

A series of banners made by three individual groups on the theme of childhood.

A sheltered home for senior citizens called Clifton Court. The resident’s worked on the theme of a “Trip down memory lane” incorporating old photographs and themes of childhood games played, songs and stories from the past.

Middlefield Girls Group “21st Century Girls”
Fun and funky, this piece included the use of plastic, metal pan scrubs, latex & glass nuggets. The girls ages 14 created a piece inspired by teenage trends. We incorporated photographic images made by the girls and layered them with popular sayings & trends. The choice of colours including a silver and unusual materials contributed to a very futuristic finished Textile collage.

Middlefield Primary School “Millennium Rocket”. Children aged 6 – 10 years created a rocket inspired about how they would see themselves in the future, what sort of jobs they would have & lifestyle. The rocket symbolized launching their dreams and hopes for a better/safer future. There was no holding back and the children created wacky and futuristic fabric 2 D pieces which were formed on a metal rocket framework. Pieces included cars, fashions, landscapes/environments, animals etc.

1998
Great Northern Partnership
A wall hanging commissioned to celebrate 25 years of a sheltered housing complex. working with residents aged up to 95 years old. Participants had old photos of buildings and landmarks of interest which we looked at together and discussed how we could use them in the finished piece. We decided to create a piece based on a fountain (which no longer exists) but which had been a former meeting point for many of the residents in this part of the city of Aberdeen. Working on the project evoked many nostalgic memories for the residents (many long forgotten) which were integrated into the piece such as women working in the fishing industry.

1996
Balnagask Multi-Arts Project
Commissioned to design a Wall piece for the Aberdeen Royal Children`s Hospital Chapel. Helped by residents of Torry Sheltered Housing group of senior citizens we created a piece called the Tree of Life. Techniques included silk painting, appliqué and embroidery.

1994
Broomhill Primary School
Textile banner made to commemorate 100 years of school. Worked with children ages 4 to 10. The children created 2d self portraits of themselves including the clothes and accessories they wore.

1994
Union Street Stitched Up Project
