"Creativity heals myself and others"

Annabel Pattullo (B.A Hons in Art & Design)
has over 12 years experience teaching & organizing arts activities both privately and as a Community Artist to people of all ages from pre-school children to senior citizens, including people with learning difficulties.

Annabel has been involved with Community Art Projects with different groups in Scotland and more recently in Germany for more than twelve years. She has experience of facilitating a wide range of participating arts activities for people of all ages, with special focus on communities considered deprived or with special needs.

The main aim in Community Art Projects is to underpin social inclusion themes and issues, with emphasis on community building, environmental enhancement and personal development.

Annabel has an extensive range of creative skills; for instance she has painted murals, designed and created mosaics, worked with materials such as clay and willow in model and mask making, renovated junk furniture, taught paint effects, made Christmas decorations, card making etc….(the list of activities is endless).

Her main experience however, lies in working with fabrics, printing onto fabric, sewing and embroidery techniques. She has completed approximately fifteen textile projects working with every age range – pre school, children, young adults, adults and senior citizens.

“ You need to be able to adapt easily to different situations, be able to communicate face to face, deal with challenging behaviour (at times) and work on your own initiative …. it is a extremely rewarding job to be able to inspire and strengthen people’s belief in themselves. To see an individual or a group working together, their confidence develop through creative thought and action is very exciting”.
