JOURNAL SERIES

The Journal series chronicles my arrival in Germany and the settling in period experienced. Working with sketches and word circles (a method of connecting ideas to a key word) the following three pieces were created.

LINOCUT & MONO PRINTING

This was a progression from the work 'Home Sweet Home' (Journal Series). I explored the use of linocut prints and mono printing in an experimental way.

This series represents a period of deep introspection. Some of the work reflects very difficult stages of my life and the struggle for peace.

This series depicts the landscape found in the North East of Scotland. I constantly find the lure of the sea and the Scottish fishing harbours a rich source of inspiration.

DOWNTIME SERIES

While listening to jazz music I found it conjured up fragmented images of city living: getting ready for a date, meeting friends for a drink, the city buzz and club scene. I had been experimenting with laying objects on the shelf of an overhead projector and then enlarging the images and creating interesting designs. The sandal, bottles & rose seem to take on a life of their own.
